Archery

Sport Commissioner: Jake Viet, jvarcher@charter.net

Jake Viet is a member of the National Archery Association, which is the NGB for Olympic archery. 
He is a national judge as well as a Level 4 National Coach. Jake is a master coach for the National 
Field Archery Association. He competed in the Southeast Sports Festival competition and won 1st  
place. Last year he won the gold in Olympics of Georgia. He ran two Junior Olympic programs 
affiliated with the NAA for youth under age 18. He currently teaches archery for Gwinett County 
Parks and Recreation. Jake judged the National Junior Olympics Championship in Ohio last year 
and will be judging the upcoming National NAA target event in Colorado Springs. He won one 
NAA National Championship, two NFAA (National Field Archery Association), and also won 
three world championships put on by the International Field Archery Association.

Badminton

Sue Wieloch is currently a member of USA Badminton. She has been involved with the Georgia 
Games since 1992 and also runs badminton at the City of Decatur Recreation Center. She worked 
at the 1996 Olympics and has been running tournaments in the Atlanta area since 1985. Each year, 
Sue competes in several local tournaments. Although Sue does not do much coaching, she does 
exhibitions with Marietta Schools. Sue is a Level 1 umpire and has previously played in several 
national tournaments.

Basketball Boy's

Sport Commissioner: Tony Ingle

Sport Chair: Chaunsia White, GGOps3@kennesaw.edu

Tony Ingle is currently in his seventh season as the head coach of the Kennesaw State University 
Men’s Basketball team. In the 2003-2004 season, Ingle led the Kennesaw State Owl’s to the 
National Championship win in Division II. He is one of the most highly recognized coaches in his 
era, most notably for bringing the Owls to a position of national recognition.  Tony was named the 
Most Valuable Player during both his Junior and Senior years at
North Whitfield High School and 
averaged 18.4 points, 14.1 assists and 9.4 steals per game which led him to be selected to the 1971 
Chattanooga Free Press First Team All-Tri State Squad. He began his collegiate playing career at 
Dalton Junior College where his Roadrunners won back-to-back state and regional titles while making 
two trips to the national tournament. He played his final two season of college ball at Huntingdon 
College in Montgomery, Alabama.

Dave Checkle is on the local bowling association board of directors for Atlanta as well as the State 
level. He is currently active in bowling and coaches juniors on Saturdays. He is a certified coach and 
actively coaches Saturday youth leagues. Previously, Dave was a director of local, state, and regional 
bowling tournaments. Dave is a life member of the local bowling association and is a hall of fame 
member of the Georgia State Association.

Jackie currently coaches Judo and is the head instructor at Gwinnett Judo. She is also secretary for 
Georgia Judo. Jackie recently won the 2005 Senior Nationals Masters
Division and was named Outstanding Masters Female athlete. She won
Collegiate Nationals, was an Olympic Training Center athlete and was the alternate
for the World and Olympic teams. Jackie also medaled at several Senior National and
Olympic Festival events.

Racquetball

Sports Commissioner: Otto Dietrich, ottod@bellsouth.net

Otto Dietrich began playing racquetball in 1973 and 4 years later began organizing and running 
tournaments.  His experience in running tournaments ranges from local events to national and international 
competitions.  Otto was on USA Racquetball’s National Rules Committee continually since 1982 and 
served as the sport’s National Rules Commissioner from 1988–1998.  After serving on the USA 
Racquetball’s National Rules Committee, he served as the USAR’s National President 1998-2003.
In 2003, when term limits mandated that he step down, he was appointed once again as USAR’s 
National Rules Commissioner and still is today.  USA Racquetball is the national governing body of 
racquetball in the USA as recognized by the USOC.  In 1996, Otto received the Joe Sobek Award as 
having made the most outstanding contribution to the sport for that year. Otto ran the 2002 racquetball 
venue in Augusta and served as the Chairman from 2003 through 2006.  In 2002, he was acknowledged 
by the staff and local chairman as an experienced, capable organizer of such events. 
Otto hopes to make this year’s event better than ever!

Roller Hockey

Rich Call is the USA inline hockey local referee and chief. He founded the GIHRA (Georgia Inline 
Hockey Referees Association). Rich is a referee and chief for the GA high school roller hockey assoc 
(GHRA) and currently referees all levels all over the country. Not only does Rich referee at national 
events but he also is involved in tournaments in Canada, Europe, and other countries in the world. 
Rich Call currently plays locally on a men’s team. He won a national championship in hardball roller 
hockey and trained in the Olympic training center for hardball hockey.

Rowing

Sports Commissioner: Mike Ryan, msaryan@earthlink.net

Mike Ryan coaches a high school team and assists for the men’s club at Alpharetta High. 
He also assists the coaches at the Atlanta Old White and occasionally still plays for Old White. 
Mike was an All-South collegiate player in 1989 and 1990. Mike just plays for the love of the 
game and this will be his third year running the Rugby tournament for the Georgia Games. He has 
enjoyed being President of Old White for three years now, and is actively involved in the rugby community.

Shooting-Shot Gun

Jim is currently a member of the NSCA, NSSA, and ATA. He is a certified instructor 
for NSSA and NSCA and he coaches both children and adults. He is a qualified referee for NSCA.

BB gun

Sports Commissioner: Gordon Walker, gowalker@hotmail.com

Gordon Walker is a member of the national rifle association. The team he competes with has 
been to the International BB Gun Championships twice and they qualified in first and second 
place in state championships, which allowed them to advance to the National Championships. 
Gordon has coached the Gwinnett County 4H for eight years now, and he currently shoots 
competitively with a local club.

Western 3 Gun

Sports Commissioner: Randy Jackson, w3g@comcast.net

Randy has loved to shoot since childhood and is currently the cowboy for the Georgia Sports 
Shooting Foundation. He has been in SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) and was a world, 
national, and state champion several times and also won the Steel challenge and world championship
 of speed shooting.  Randy is a two-time single action world champion and won the shot gun event three 
times at the world championships at the steel challenge. He currently holds the world record for all three
 courses. Randy travels and shoots bows and actively tries to get youth involved in the sport. 
His primary goal is to further second amendment rights and recruit new people into the sport.

Air Pistol; Smallbore Rifle 3x40/Smallbore Prone; Air rifle 3x20 & international

Very involved with youth. Also got a bronze star for his service in Afghanistan. Roy is a life 
member of USA shooting and the NRA. He is currently on the board of directors for the GSSA and
 is a member of the Griffin Gun Club. Roy coaches BB Gun, Sporter, Air Rifle, and Smallbore at the 
Spalding Co 4H, and he has been a chair for the Georgia Games since 2002. I have been involved in 
Competitive Shooting since 1978. Roy was a member of the McConnell AFB Rifle and Pistol Team 
while assigned to the 347 Security Police Squadron from 1978 - 1981. From 1981-1987, Roy competed 
as an individual in various Rifle and Pistol Competitions earning Excellence-In-Competition (EIC) points 
with both, Rifle in 1984 and Pistol in 1985.  He was selected to the USAF Rifle Team in 1987 and competed
 in the Inter Service Championships at Quantico USMC base as well as the National Championships at Camp
 Perry OH, earning two Gold, two Silver and three Bronze medals in various Highpower competitions. 
In the past few years, Roy competed in a number of CMP Sporter Smallbore Rifle and Cowboy Action events.

Softball - Adult

Patrick is a member of GRPA (Georgia Parks and Recreation Association) as tournament 
director as well a member of USSA. He is the league director of the Clayton County Parks 
and Rec. Softball League. Plays on an adult travel team and helps coach youth fast pitch teams
Patrick played softball on a National Church Championship team and has played in two world tournaments.

Table Tennis

Wendell Dillon is an International referee and umpire. He was a referee for the table 
tennis event in the Atlanta Olympics. He is currently Chairman of the officials and rules 
committee for the USATT. Wendell is actively involved in training umpires and referees, and
 has run table tennis tournaments in Atlanta for over 30 years. He has worked as a local, national, 
and international tournament referee; however, he does not play anymore. Wendell was selected to
referee the table tennis events in the Olympics, and Wendell received the title as senior state champion several times.

Larry Snyder is a licensed USTA umpire and referee. He is heavily involved with Alta,
 the biggest tennis league in Atlanta, and USTA, and he currently plays for both organizations. 
Larry is a former Southeastern Region mixed doubles champion.

Volleyball - Outdoor

Jaime Dutro and Diane Holmes have been involved with amateur athletics since high school. 
They are involved with volleyball on many levels and serve on the board for Volleyball Atlanta. 
Jaime is currently the Chairperson for Volleyball Atlanta and Diane is the Indoor President. 
They work closely with USA Volleyball and other governing bodies such as the AVP and FIVB.
 Over the years, both Diane and Jaime have won many tournaments in their divisions. They have
 coordinated developmental leagues, adult volleyball leagues, and run clinics for various school systems 
and county organizations. They coached both youth and adults and also have referee experience. 
They have previously been involved with the Special Olympics at the local and state levels. Their tournament 
directing has even taken them to the Bahamas. Both worked with the indoor volleyball for the 1996 Olympics, 
coordinated a volleyball venue for the Cooking Light Grandstand event in 1999 at Turner Field and the 
Downtown Beach Volleyball Tournament in 2005.
