Team Work

In Band of Brothers, the story of Easy Company in WWII, Steven Ambrose tells of how the men of Easy Company had to regularly run to the top of a very large hill next to their training facilities. Although they hated it at the time, they later realized the experience provided them endurance, confidence, and a sense of camaraderie. All these traits contributed to them being one of the best units in the American armed forces.

Physical activity and better nutrition can have a dramatic impact on individual and group dynamics. It can boost self-confidence, morale, productivity and a veritable endless list of benefits beyond better health. Like Easy Company we face a deadly enemy and like Easy Company our teams can establish an esprit de corps that will be of great value to us all.

Individual commitment to a group effort -- that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work. (Vince Lombardi)
