Release: April 11, 2005
Donation Drive '07 Proceeds go to support the Georgia Sports Foundation and its affiliates. You can make a difference! There
are 1440 minutes in every day... Schedule 30 of them for physical
activity. Adults
need recess too! With a little creativity and planning, even the person
with the busiest schedule can make room for physical activity. For many
folks, before or after work or meals is often an available time to
cycle, walk, or play. Think about your weekly or daily schedule and look
for or make opportunities to be more active. Every little bit helps.
Consider the following suggestions:
When is the best time to exercise? Until recent years, there were conflicting stories on whether it was 'best' to exercise in the morning, at noon, before or after dinner, or late in the evening. Recent research, however, indicates the 'best' time is whatever time fits in your schedule. Take a very close look at your day and write the specific time in your planner as an appointment for physical activity. For many people, mornings are best because this is the only time that is not obligated or shared with other commitments/people. For those who are not early birds and have a full evening schedule, the best time is during the lunch hour- while some find it best to work out late at night. Bottom line, make it an appointment and keep it!
