OPERATIONS / CHAMPIONSHIPS (Internship)

Available in each semester: 

Jan-May    =    4-8 positions: 

May-Aug    =    12 - 18 positions

Aug-Dec.    =    4 positions: 

Assist the Operations Department with planning and overseeing all aspects of over 50 sporting competitions within the Georgia State Games format.  The position requires some experience planning and organizing competitions or events.  Strong communication, organizational and people skills are needed.

Each intern will be assigned to specific sports and will be in charge of those sports from A to Z to including but not limited to venue prospecting, venue planning, volunteer recruitment, officials recruitment and or scheduling, marketing to attract coaches and athletes, sports sponsorship, registration, PR development and marketing, financial planning and management for the sport, sport implementation, event setup & breakdown, evaluation and more.

For Summer 2009: interns with expertise in the following are specifically needed:

Basketball, Cycling, Road Races (running), Rowing, Shooting, Shot Gun, Swimming & Track & Field
