SPORT SPECIFIC INFORMATION

 

Date: Saturday, July 18,2009

Site: Earl O'Neal Sports Complex, 2709 Old Covington Rd NE, Conyers

Time: Registration & Check-in – 8.00 a.m.

Practice - 9:00 to 9:45 a.m.

             Competition - 10:00 a.m.

Entry Fee: 1) $23.00/per event (Adult & Intermediate); $16.00/per event (Youth&Junior)

             2) On-site registration will be available for additional fee

*Out of State residents add $5.00 to entry fee*

Entry Deadline: July 10, 2009

Divisions: Adult - 18 & Over, Senior 50 & Over, Master - 70 & Over, Intermediate - 15-17, Junior - 12-14, Cadet - 12 & Under.

STYLE CLASS DESCRIPTION

 

Adult, Senior & Master Classes:

COMPOUND BOW:

A. Open - Any bow, any sight and any release aid.

B. Limited - Any bow, any sight and no release aid.

C. Barebow - Any bow, no sight and no release aid.

 

RECURVE BOW:

A. Olympic Recurve - Olympic equipment rules.

B. Traditional - Any recurve or longbow with no accessories attached to the bow other than an arrow rest.  Index finger must touch the arrow nock at full draw and use only one anchor location on the face.

 

Youth Classes:

A. Any bow in Open: Same as adult.

B. Any bow in Barebow: Same as adult.

C. Olympic Recurve: Same as adult.

 

COMPETITION REGULATIONS

  1. All bows have an 80lb. Maximum peak and a maximum speed of 280 FPS.
  2. Competition one 900 round: Adults & Intermediates – Five 6 arrow ends from 60, 50, 40 meters, Juniors – five 6 arrow ends from 50, 40, 30 meters, Cadet – five 6 arrow ends from 30, 20, 10 meters.
  3. Time Limit: There will be two lines of shooting with a 5-minute time limit per line. The first line will retire after their last arrow shot so that the second line can be called.
  4. Rules: Are modified from both NFAA and NAA rounds, under the direction of the GAA.
  5. Scoring: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 from center out on a 122cm-target face.
  6. Awards: Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in all divisions and styles.
  7. Dress Code: Must meet civil decency laws.
  8. Qualifying: Membership in an archery association is NOT required. We encourage all to participate in your regional competition of the Georgia Games, but it is NOT required. If any participant acts unsafe or unruly he or she will be given one warning. If conduct continues he or she will be asked to leave the competition by a tournament official with no refund of shooting fee.

Directions from Augusta:

Take I-20 west to exit (Salem Rd.) turn right.  Go to Old Covington Rd. (there is a light).  Turn right and go just over a mile to the yellow flashing light.  Turn left into the complex. Soccer fields are on the left, drive to the parking lot on the left.

Directions from Atlanta:

Take I-20 east to exit (Salem Rd.) turn left.  Go to Old Covington Rd. (there is a light).  Turn right and go just over a mile to the yellow flashing light.  Turn left into the complex. Soccer fields are on the left, drive to the parking lot on the left.
